1991 SeasonThe 1991 season kicked off early, with two matches played before the end of April. Unfortunately it was almost the end of May before the Collective registered the first win of the year. The short purple patch which followed was over by 8 June, and victories thereafter were very hard to come by. The RBCC-MOB XI fixture first appeared this year: a hard-fought match at Warwick University saw MOB XI tottering at 100-8 in pursuit of our 145-8 when time ran out. August was probably the cruellest month this year, in direct contravention of all poetic justice, with a succession of heavy defeats and only a single draw during an otherwise extremely enjoyable tour to Somerset. This could have been even more enjoyable if only Monday's opposition had remembered to turn up. A visit to Downe for the first of many fixtures against the RCS allowed us to end the season on a winning note. Those of a sensitive disposition may care to look away now: here are the 1991 averages.
